With increasing awareness of the impact building practices have on the environment, homeowners are searching for long-term ways to reduce the strain on resources and energy by designing their houses and gardens in a sustainable manner. Each issue of green showcases the most interesting and creative designs from architects and landscapers around Australia, with high level photography and informative comment, as well as feature articles on designers, the latest in global trends, information on new products and expert advice. In 2008 the decision was made to move from sustainable forest sourced paper to 100% post recycled ecoStar. The response from readers and clients has been enormously positive and a subsequent rise in retail sales can be attributed to the prominence at retail outlets offered by the stock. green magazine also publishes relevant articles online and the website is the primary source of magazine subscriptions.
